Merona - Target Stores own brand. I don't think I ever posted this brand before even though I have seen many items in Target of this brand that are made in Bangladesh. I wanted to post a new brand so here you go. This is a flannel 2 piece sleeping suite. Very comfortable and warm for people in colder climates like Americas and Europe. This is definitely not for warmer places. I also like this particular color combination of Blue and Green. These are exclusively sold in Target stores or their online site.

Pran Mr Noodles Magic Masala
Maggie is always popular among deshi kids - they always have the apatite for Maggie noddles. Now Bangladesh has their own version from Pan Foods - Mr Noodles. I have never tasted these but kids like them equally as Maggie so I bet they are good. This particular one is "Magix Masala" flavor and yes they are instant and microwavable.

Gymboree Girl's Jeans
My wife bought, few pairs of Jeans for the kids from Gymboree and they were all made in Bangladesh. I didn't know that Bangladesh makes Jeans for very popular kid's brand like Gymboree. They are well made and I am sure you can tell from the picture that they are very cute. Gone are the days when only Jeans you would find in Bangladesh were imported. Whenever a family member went overseas especially to Americas, I always asked for a pair of Jeans because they were just not widely available.

Pran Peanut Bar
Another yummy snack bar from Pran. This plastic container contains small packets of bars that has real peanut coating. It is sweet and crunchy. These are available all over Bangladesh. Expats, check your local Indian/Bangladeshi stores and you might find these tasty bars there.

Wrangler Jeans
I think I took this picture at Target stores. I don't see too many jeans made in Bangladesh but to my surprise these turned out to be from Bangladesh. Well made and I did buy a pair for kids. I remember growing up Bangladesh, only Jeans available there were imports. That changed now, I see many of the local brands as well as export garments are making good quality Jeans.

Lands' End Men's Jacket
I was walking through Sears store at a mall and wanted to check out if Lands's End had any items made in Bangladesh as I never saw one before. Sure enough I found some and one of which was this jacket. A little history on Lands' End - they have always been a mail order catalog based company for years until the internet revolution started. Then they expanded their product lines through online. They are just not known in the US but also in the UK and Japan. Many of you may know that Lands's End were bought up by Sears few years back and that's why we see Lands' End section in all Sears stores now. However, they still maintain their root as one of the major catalog and online retailers.

Big Chill Girl's Winter Jacket
If you live in a colder climate and you have kids, you know your kids outgrow those winter jackets each year. I had a get a new winter jacket for my kid but luckily I didn't have to buy this time. A relative got that as a present for my kid. Wonderful looking and warm jacket but I was more curious to see where it was made. It turned out that it was made in Bangladesh. Yeah, the sure made me happy. This is not high-end but the price was up there at Kohl's stores. I am hoping to see more and more high-end jackets at the top retailers and not just low-end ones made in Bangladesh.

Aarong Ekushey Collection
Amor Ekushey is coming again in a few days for us to remember the martyrs of the Language Movement of 1952. Each year all the fashion houses in Dhaka also brings out their best collection for Ekushey and of course the choice of color is Black and White and sometime with a dash of Red. You can find these unique collection of Shelwar Kameez, Fatwa, Saree and T-Shirts with Bangla alphabet only during this time. This one is from Aarong but like I mentioned, every single fashion house comes up with their own unique selections.

Aeropostale T-Shirt
I was looking for a very popular brand that I didn't cover here yet. I really didn't have to go out and look for it. My wife is shopping for our upcoming trip to Bangladesh and while I was checking through the items she bought I found this Aeropostale t-shirt. The irony is that it is made in Bangladesh and now going back to Bangladesh as a gift. I don't really have any clothes of Aeropostale brand but this is very popular among teenage crowds and even young adults.

Sajeeb Ready Mix Pancake
We sure live in a global village. Never imagined instant pancake mix will be made and sold in Bangladesh. This pancake mix doesn't exactly taste like the pancakes mixes you find at supermarkets in the Europe and Americas but it is good. It has a bit of floury taste to it which you may or may not like but you will only know if you try it. The taste will definitely need to be modified to match with the America/European ones if the manufacturer is interested in exporting them.

Crown Farms Chandpuri Hilsa
It was very exciting when I ran into this at a local Vietnamese grocery store. There is a wide selection of fish and seafood there and most them are from Vietnam and Thailand. I didn't expect to see my favorite fish there but I did. On the same note, Hilsa/Ilish is probably the favorite fish of 125% Bengalis :). Hilsa is not cheap in Bangladesh/India and neither was this one but ask any Bengali, he/she will pay the price for the unforgettable taste of Hilsa - yummm! I think the price of Hilsa is same in Western world as it is in Bangladesh now. However, you will probably have better luck finding Hilsa in grocery stores of Europe, Middle East and Americas than in Bangladesh since a while lot of them are exported.
