Pran Kalijeera Aromatic Rice

Spotted this at a local Indian grocery store. Pran has become a well known brand not just for Bangladeshis but the entire south Asian diasporas. This is not the cheapest rice but Kalijeera is a finer and smaller grain rice with wonderful aroma and great taste. This is a finer rice and you will know once you try it.  

Cat & Jack Boy’s Dress Shirt

If you are looking for really good quality dress shirt without paying outrageous price, this is the brand to get. Cat & Jack is a Target store brand and I think they only sell them at Target in the United States. The fabric is really good and soft and they are well made. Of course, this is made in Bangladesh. 

Nike Hoddie

Fleece hoodie that can be worn by both men and women. With cooler weather in winter, these are very popular among teenagers in the western world. This is the first Nike hoodie that I saw that was made in Bangladesh. I will be looking out for other brand hoodie and you will see them here as soon as I see one.  

Crown Portland Composite Cement

Crown cement brand is part of M.I. Cement Factory Limited and a company with national awards for export. Bangladesh is now the world's 40th largest market with demand for cement for never ending construction all over the country. Just 30 years ago, almost 100% of the demand was met through importing cement and now that completely changed. Bangladesh has surplus cement that is exported to primarily neighboring countries like Sri Lanka and India. Mughal Paratha

Mughal brand paratha for those that like paratha and aloo bhaji for breakfast like me. Most of the Malaysian paratha in the market are made in Bangladesh but I am happy to see Bangladesh expanding into broader packaged frozen food selections. These taste really good!

Happy valentines day! It is so wonderful to find this valentines day t-shirt for kids at Gymboree that’s made in Bangladesh. I only wished it also read Love in Bangla but hopefully I will still find one and have the pleasure of posting here.
