Aarong Handicraft Dancer Doll

There are many varieties of these dancing dolls that are fully handcrafted. These dolls are in various classical (Bharatnatyam type) dance positions and as usual in vibrant colored sarees. This one is yellow, red with silver trim. Many daughters are very much into Bharatnatyam and they always play with these even though we bought these as decorations. You can buy them in any of the Aarong outlets in Bangladesh. However, you may not find this exact one but you will definitely find a variation of this.

If you are not sure where Aarong outlets are located, checkout their website for more information.

Aarong Ekushey Collection

Amor Ekushey is coming again in a few days for us to remember the martyrs of the Language Movement of 1952. Each year all the fashion houses in Dhaka also brings out their best collection for Ekushey and of course the choice of color is Black and White and sometime with a dash of Red. You can find these unique collection of Shelwar Kameez, Fatwa, Saree and T-Shirts with Bangla alphabet only during this time. This one is from Aarong but like I mentioned, every single fashion house comes up with their own unique selections.

Aarong Shalwar Kameez

The picture don't do justice here for the color. I tried to take few shots with various setting but no luck. This is a very colorful yet very tasteful Shalwar Kameez for women. The fabric is cotton and very comfortable from what I was told. Aarong of course doesn't need any introduction - this is a very popular destination for Bangladeshis as well as foreigners visiting Dhaka.
